Deny Accept.Going in my mindOver and overMe crumblingUnder the weightOf choiceOf wearinessOf weaknessNot knowingWhat I wantNone of us reallyKnowing what We want
Locked inA prisonOf my own makingChains feelSo niceKissed byCaptorsHealing the wounds
Yet knowingNo one to holdMe when I escapeNo safety netOther than the cage

I choose to stay homeWith the books and sheetsLife at my fingertips.Doing what I wantEven silence if I please.Lying down; daydreamingOr at times, no single thought
Probing for meaning of lifeUncluttered by screams,Shouts, television, telephoneWanting life to breathAt its own pace

I key in and expungeWords that gush unreservedlyfrom my earnest reflections
Too revealing in theirraw passionand honest fervor
Sliding down my minddecoded into lettersbut exterminated by backspace.
